Whether you're facing a specific legal issue or have more general questions, Peter has the education and experience needed to address a wide range of issues and to explain what will be involved in resolving them. His approach is aggressive, businesslike, and matter-of-fact in all matters.
It is essential to a successful solicitor-client relationship that the risks and rewards of each decision be explained to the client before it is made. In every case, Peter’s advice will be candid and impartial, focusing on the client’s best interests. The costs and benefits of each decision will be explained at the outset of the file and will be periodically reviewed before any important step is taken. This applies equally to all clients, whether their file involves litigation or is a general practice matter.
Peter graduated Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Commerce (1977), Master in Business Administration (1979), and an LLB (1988). He has been a member of the Law Society of Prince Edward Island since 1989 and the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society since 1995. His education assists him in advising corporate and commercial clients and clients involved in complex litigation. It also assists him in relating to and understanding other business advisors.
Peter’s legal experience spans 25 years. He has been incorporated since 2001 and practices through Peter C. Ghiz Law Corporation. His litigation and general practice experience complement one another which allows him to fully assess matters from a variety of perspectives.
